Healthy Habits for Easter and Beyond

For those who celebrate Easter it is a joyful event that symbolizes hope and renewal – not just spiritually, but physically and emotionally too.

Easter is also known for chocolate eggs, hot cross buns, and big family feasts (and yes, we can enjoy them!).  It is also a good time to reset your wellness goals with fresh energy and intention.

Here are a few simple ways to enjoy Easter while staying true to your health and wellness plan:

1. Moderation rather than Deprivation
Easter treats are part of the fun, and it’s better to have a few chocolates mindfully, than feeling guilty later about eating the whole box of chocolates. Practice savouring every bite, one mindful moment at a time.

2. Get Outdoors and Move
Enjoy a gentle walk after Easter lunch, a morning hike, or a backyard egg hunt with the family to move your body and boost your mood naturally.

3. Liven Up Your Plate
Think asparagus, leafy greens, strawberries and radishes. Try adding colourful vegetables and salads to your Easter table – it’s beautiful and nourishing.

4. Take Stock
As Easter represents rebirth, take a moment to reflect on your personal health aspirations. What old habits don’t serve you anymore? What new ones do you want to grow? Even one small change, like drinking more water or setting a regular bedtime, can create a knock-on effect of positive change.

5. Put Connection First
Joy, laughter and connection are important factors of health and wellness, in addition to exercise and diet. Let Easter be a reminder that connection is also a source of nourishment, whether you’re spending time introspecting or with loved ones.
